We are delighted that Diana Blackburn will be joining us as a tutor for the 2025 course. Many of you will already know Diana and I am sure you will make welcome in her new role. Diana has a wealth of knowledge and experience with a variety of techniques.

Those of you who attended the 2023 course will have all met Hazel Ryan.

Hazel has joined the team and will act as the liaison with the University and help with the day to day running of the course.

This year marked a change in organising team – Sarah and Carole took over from Kitty and Sue who had been organising the course for 40 years. We had planned on marking this incredible achievement last year but had to delay it. At the beginning of this year’s course Sue and Kitty were presented with two framed trees made up of individual lace leaves made by past students and tutors at the course. The Edinburgh Lace Course has been a vital part of the calendar in this area and has encouraged and developed so many talented lacemakers that they were delighted to contribute to the surprise.
